flyer, escort the parade, manage mud, and help collect People's Choice

2010 - People's Choice Set!
Festival, a big thank you to everyone that inquired. It shows that the
festival is valued as a community resource that people want to be a part
of! Below are short bios of the groups/musicians with
links so you can give everyone a listen. After doing so, go to the poll
below and vote for your favorite!
Voting ends 4/22 (one month
before the festival), so listen and select the people’s choice for the
2010 Trenton Ave Arts Festival.
Taggart:
“Taggart,
together as a band since 1995, has been tearing up stages in the
tri-state area with their high-energy brand of rock n roll. Taking cues
from seminal bands like The Replacements and Husker Du, coupled with
British legends like The Who and The Beatles, Taggart has released two
full length records and has been featured on numerous compilations,
including "Left of The Dial: A Tribute to the Replacements" and "Who’s
Not Forgotten: A Tribute to The Who", both on New Jersey indie label,
Face Down Records. Taggart’s sets are high energy affairs, sometimes
lasting a bombastic 45 minutes, and other times lasting an arena rock
worthy two and a half hours! With well over 50 originals and triple that
in classic and obscure cover songs, Taggart have been Philadelphia’s

Auctioneer:
“Is a Craig Hendrix
brain-child. A multi-instrumentslist producer from unknown origins in
Minnesota, transplanted to Bucks County Pa in the early 80’s. He is now
based in Philadelphia. Hendrix was once a member of The Bon Savants and
presently performs with Aderbat and Birdie Busch. His baritone voice,
simple melodies and complex arrangements make Hendrix the modern Beach

Kenneth Tyrone:
I am a self-educated
working-class songwriter, guitarist, sometime singer and a writer who
has lived all over the contiguous United States. I currently reside in
The City of Brotherly Lurv. The full-band tracks here, "Not The Next
World", "Chrysanthemums", and "Esperanza", were products of a floating
collaboration I called The Wills Wilde. They are my compositions,
lyrically and musically. They were produced by me and Paul Burke, who
contributed electronics and processing, vocals and strings by Heather
Gardner, cello by Ian Downey and Sarah Graff, drums by Otto Hauser. All

Iron Thumbs:
“We are a Philly based twangy indie rock band, and
have played in many Philly venues (North Star, M Room, Blinkin Lincoln,
The Fire, Millcreek, etc.) as well as a lot of outdoor Philly events and
festivals (Philadelphia Marathon, Wrightstown Farmers Market, Moore

Penn Treaty Park (Delaware & Columbia Avenue)
The Fishtown Area Business Association and Friends of Penn Treaty Park will be hosting the 2nd Annual Shad Fest
this spring (April 24th with a rain date of the 25th). Come celebrate the rich
history of Fishtown and Kensington, as well as our proximity to the Delaware
riverfront! Shad sandiches will be on the grill, local artists and vendors will
be selling their wares, and there will be lots of activites / live music for
young and old! For a $25 donation, you can lounge in the Friend's Refreshment Tent featuring Philadelphia Brewing Company's brews! Or Sign up for the Kenzinger Challenge and drink for free! For more information please visit www.fishtownshadfest.org.

Attention shipwrights, know-nothings, fishermen, and more! NKCDC is hosting a
special Waterfront Scavenger Hunt the morning of Shad Fest! Teams will form at
secret meetup locations specific to their assigned occupations, and will travel
on a special historic tour of the riverfront based on cell-phone texted clues!
